TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Lazo Centeno S.A.

September 10, 2026

These Terms and Conditions apply to reservations made with Expedition Costa Rica, operated by Lazo Centeno S.A., including transportation services, tours, activities and other travel-related services offered directly or through third-party providers.

By completing a reservation, the customer acknowledges and accepts these Terms and Conditions together with any specific conditions and cancellation policy displayed for the selected service.

1. Reservations and Confirmation

A reservation is considered confirmed once the customer receives the corresponding booking confirmation.

Customers are responsible for reviewing their reservation and providing complete and accurate information, including the service date, number of passengers, contact information, pickup and drop-off locations, and flight or accommodation information when applicable.

Incorrect, incomplete or outdated information should be reported to Expedition Costa Rica as soon as possible.

Online reservations generally must be completed at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of the service. Customers requiring a service within the next 24 hours may contact Expedition Costa Rica directly to request availability. Last-minute availability is not guaranteed.

2. Prices and Payments

Customers are responsible for paying the total amount displayed and accepted during the booking process.

The final amount may include applicable booking, payment-processing, platform or other charges when these are displayed before completing the reservation.

Refunds, when applicable, will normally be processed through the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider, financial institution or booking platform.

3. Transportation — Cancellations and Refunds

Unless a different cancellation policy is expressly displayed for the selected transportation service:

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled start of the service may receive a 50% refund of the amount paid.

  • The remaining 50% will be retained to cover administrative, operational, reservation and other costs associated with the confirmed booking.

  • Cancellations made 48 hours or less before the service are non-refundable.

  • No-shows are non-refundable.

Payment-processing, banking, booking-platform or other third-party fees that are not recoverable by Expedition Costa Rica may be deducted from any applicable refund to the extent permitted by law.

If Expedition Costa Rica is unable to provide a confirmed transportation service and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, the customer may be entitled to a refund for the affected service in accordance with applicable law.

4. Changes and Rescheduling

Requests to change the date, time, route, pickup or drop-off location, number of passengers or other reservation details are subject to availability and operational feasibility.

When reasonably possible, Expedition Costa Rica may offer the option to reschedule a service rather than cancel it.

Changes that alter the cost, duration, route, vehicle requirements or other conditions of the original reservation may result in an additional charge. Any applicable additional amount will be communicated before the modification is confirmed.

5. Tours and Activities

Expedition Costa Rica may sell tours, admission tickets, activities and other travel services operated by independent third-party providers.

Tours and activities may have cancellation, modification, minimum-participation, age, health, weather, equipment or other conditions different from those applicable to Expedition Costa Rica transportation services.

The cancellation policy and specific conditions displayed for the selected tour or activity at the time of booking will apply to that reservation and will take precedence over the general transportation cancellation policy.

Some tours or activities may be non-refundable once confirmed, particularly for last-minute reservations or when required by the corresponding operator.

When Expedition Costa Rica acts as an intermediary, certain operational aspects—including schedules, guides, equipment, activity operation and operational modifications—are controlled by the corresponding provider.

Expedition Costa Rica will make reasonable efforts to assist the customer when communication with the provider is necessary.

6. Pickup Times and Estimated Travel Times

For private transportation, the confirmed pickup time represents the scheduled time at which the service is expected to begin.

For shared transportation, pickup may be provided according to a confirmed time or an estimated pickup window because the service may involve other passengers and additional pickup or drop-off locations along the route.

Travel durations and estimated arrival times are provided for reference only and are not guaranteed.

Actual travel times may vary due to traffic, weather, road conditions, construction, accidents, passenger delays, operational circumstances or other factors outside the reasonable control of Expedition Costa Rica.

Customers are responsible for allowing sufficient additional time when connecting with flights, tours, ferries, buses, appointments or other time-sensitive services.

7. Private Airport Pickups

Customers booking private airport transportation must provide accurate flight information when requested.

When valid flight information has been provided, Expedition Costa Rica may monitor the flight and make reasonable efforts to adjust the pickup in the event of a delay.

A complimentary waiting period of up to 1 hour after the actual flight arrival time is included.

If the passenger has not reached the designated meeting point within this period, Expedition Costa Rica will make reasonable efforts to contact the passenger using the information provided in the reservation.

If the passenger cannot be located or contacted, the service may be considered a no-show and will be non-refundable.

Additional waiting time may be provided when operationally possible and may be subject to an additional charge.

8. Shared Transportation from Airports

Shared transportation services operate according to the confirmed pickup or departure schedule and cannot be delayed to accommodate individual flight delays or extended immigration, baggage claim, customs or other airport procedures.

Customers booking shared transportation from an airport are responsible for selecting a departure time that provides sufficient time after their scheduled flight arrival to complete airport procedures and reach the designated meeting point.

A complimentary waiting period of up to 15 minutes after the confirmed pickup time may be provided.

After this period, the vehicle may depart to avoid delaying other passengers.

A passenger who misses the service under these circumstances may be considered a no-show and the reservation will be non-refundable.

9. Hotel and Accommodation Pickups

Passengers must be ready at the confirmed pickup location at the scheduled pickup time.

For private transportation, a complimentary waiting period of up to 30 minutes may be provided.

For shared transportation, a complimentary waiting period of up to 15 minutes may be provided.

Because shared transportation may involve other passengers, the vehicle cannot be held beyond the applicable waiting period.

Expedition Costa Rica will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer before considering the service a no-show.

If Expedition Costa Rica anticipates a significant delay in reaching the pickup location, reasonable efforts will also be made to inform the customer using the contact information provided in the reservation.

10. Flight Changes, Cancellations and Missed Connections

Flight delays do not automatically constitute a cancellation of a private airport transfer.

If a flight is cancelled, significantly rescheduled, or the passenger misses a connection and is transferred to another flight, the customer must inform Expedition Costa Rica as soon as possible.

Expedition Costa Rica will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the new arrival when operationally possible.

A substantial change requiring a different vehicle, driver, date or operating schedule is subject to availability and may require rescheduling or an additional charge.

If the new arrival cannot reasonably be accommodated, the cancellation conditions applicable to the reservation may apply.

11. Passengers and Vehicle Capacity

Every passenger occupies a seat and must be included in the reservation regardless of age.

Unless expressly stated for a particular product, no reduced transportation fare automatically applies based on a passenger's age.

Customers are responsible for booking a vehicle or service with sufficient capacity for all passengers and their luggage.

Expedition Costa Rica may refuse to operate a service when the number of passengers exceeds the legal or operational capacity of the booked vehicle.

12. Luggage and Personal Belongings

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information regarding the quantity, dimensions and type of luggage they intend to transport when requested.

Additional, oversized or special luggage—including surfboards, bicycles, large strollers, sports equipment or similar items—must be disclosed in advance and is subject to available vehicle capacity.

Expedition Costa Rica may be unable to transport luggage that was not previously disclosed when it exceeds available capacity or creates a safety concern.

Passengers are responsible for their personal belongings and should verify that they have collected all items before leaving the vehicle.

If lost property is found, Expedition Costa Rica will make reasonable efforts to assist with its return. Any courier, transportation, shipping or delivery costs associated with returning an item are the passenger's responsibility.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded under Costa Rican law.

13. Complimentary Wi-Fi and Connectivity

Wi-Fi may be provided in Expedition Costa Rica vehicles as a complimentary service.

Internet connectivity depends on mobile network coverage and cannot be guaranteed throughout the journey.

Costa Rica includes mountainous, rural and remote areas where cellular coverage may be weak, intermittent or unavailable.

Temporary interruptions, reduced speed or lack of internet connectivity do not, by themselves, constitute a failure to provide the transportation service and do not entitle the passenger to a refund or compensation.

14. Vehicle Care, Damage and Extraordinary Cleaning

Passengers must take reasonable care of the vehicle, its interior, equipment and accessories.

A passenger may be held responsible for reasonable and demonstrable costs resulting from damage intentionally or negligently caused during the service.

This may include damage to seats, seat belts, doors, windows, interior panels, charging equipment, electronic devices, Wi-Fi equipment or other vehicle components.

Passengers may also be responsible for reasonable extraordinary cleaning or restoration costs resulting from conditions beyond normal vehicle use, including vomiting, significant food or beverage spills, stains, excessive mud or other substantial contamination caused during the service.

Any amount charged must be reasonably related to the cleaning, repair, replacement or restoration actually required.

Passengers should immediately inform the driver of any illness, spill, accident or damage occurring during the service.

15. Conduct Inside Vehicles

Smoking, vaping, illegal drug use and consumption of alcoholic beverages are not permitted inside the vehicle.

Food consumption may be restricted to protect the cleanliness and condition of the vehicle.

Water and non-alcoholic beverages in securely closed containers are generally permitted.

Passengers must follow reasonable safety and vehicle-care instructions provided by the driver.

Expedition Costa Rica may refuse or discontinue transportation when a passenger engages in violent, threatening or dangerous conduct; deliberately damages the vehicle; harasses the driver or other passengers; uses illegal substances; or otherwise creates a reasonable safety risk.

A service terminated due to serious passenger misconduct may be considered non-refundable, subject to applicable law.

16. Stops and Route Modifications

Reasonable restroom or refreshment stops may be accommodated during longer journeys when operationally possible.

Additional stops, significant route deviations, restaurant or shopping visits, or additional waiting time requested by the passenger are not automatically included unless expressly indicated in the reservation.

Substantial changes to the booked itinerary or additional waiting time may result in an additional charge, which will be communicated when reasonably possible before the additional service is provided.

17. Delays and Circumstances Beyond Our Reasonable Control

Expedition Costa Rica will make reasonable efforts to provide services according to confirmed reservations.

Services may nevertheless be affected by traffic, severe weather, road closures, accidents, natural events, public demonstrations, government restrictions, mechanical problems or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

When reasonably possible, Expedition Costa Rica will communicate significant disruptions and attempt to provide the confirmed service or a reasonable alternative.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded under Costa Rican law.

18. Operational Changes

For reasonable operational, logistical or safety reasons, Expedition Costa Rica may substitute a vehicle or driver, adjust a route or pickup arrangement, or make other operational changes, provided that these changes do not materially reduce the essential service purchased by the customer.

19. Updates to These Terms and Conditions

Expedition Costa Rica may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect operational, commercial, legal or service-related changes.

The current version will be made available through Expedition Costa Rica's official website and/or booking platform, together with its effective or last-updated date.

The Terms and Conditions applicable to a reservation will generally be those made available to the customer at the time the reservation is completed.

Changes published after a reservation has been confirmed will not retroactively reduce or modify rights or material conditions applicable to that confirmed reservation, except where required by applicable law or expressly agreed with the customer.

20. Acceptance and Applicable Law

By completing a reservation, the customer confirms that they had the opportunity to review and accept these Terms and Conditions together with the specific conditions and cancellation policy applicable to the selected service.

In the event of a conflict specifically related to a particular service, the specific conditions disclosed for that service will prevail over these general conditions.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights established by applicable law.
